Interpreting the Mission Fit Matrix

How to read the dot plot, what the five states mean for each position, and how to prioritize from the read.

The Mission Fit Matrix is the portfolio view, every team against every mission you might assign, in one picture. It never collapses into a single league-table score, because a team is only strong or weak relative to a specific mission.

Read it and you see the things a roster hides: the person who fits today’s mission and gaps tomorrow’s, the team that looks ready until you imagine the pivot.

Prioritizing from it is straightforward, fix the gaps on the mission you are actually running, and watch the single covers before any re-task, because that is where a quiet strength turns into a sudden hole. The matrix is how you catch re-tasking risk before the pivot instead of after.
